About Betina and Island of Murter

Betina is the most picturesque place on island Murter a proud beauty situated on the north eastern side of the island of Murter. Its stone houses tell story about Betina man, farmer, fisherman who is nurturing his traditions and cultural heritage and today is extremely appealing to every tourist who decides to explore the picturesque streets, peek at the gates of Betina and wooden shipbuilding workshops. At first sight, the church of Sv. Francis of Assisi from the 15th century will captivate you. It is situated above Betina and has a Baroque bell tower from the 18th century. The church looms above the place and with caring eye nurtures interwoven Dalmatian streets.

Betina fields are rich with traditional culture – figs and olives and testifies about permanent relationship between Betina farmer and his -“feeder” olive tree, about wonderful nets of Dalmatian dry wall in untouched natural beauty.
